This Privacy Policy explains how Video to Text (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Service.

Video to Text is operated as an independent product. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account information

When you sign in, we may collect account information such as:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your profile image, if provided by your sign-in provider
  • internal account and session identifiers needed to operate the Service

1.2 Uploaded media and transcription-related data

When you use Video to Text, we may process information related to your transcription request, including:

  • uploaded file name
  • file size
  • media duration
  • selected language option
  • speaker label setting
  • transcript identifiers
  • exported transcript content requested through the Service

Uploaded files are stored through our cloud infrastructure so the transcription workflow can run. Media and transcript data may also be sent to AI technology suppliers that process speech transcription on our behalf.

1.3 Local browser storage

The Service stores limited transcription-related records in your browser to support the export flow and recent history view. These local records can include:

  • transcript identifiers
  • file names
  • timestamps
  • media duration
  • account-linked local record metadata

These local records are designed to expire after about 72 hours, or sooner if you clear them yourself.

1.4 Payment and billing information

If you purchase additional minutes, your payment is handled by our payment technology suppliers. We do not store full payment card details on our own servers. We may receive billing-related metadata such as order identifiers, customer identifiers, and purchase status.

1.5 Usage, analytics, and advertising data

We use analytics and advertising technology suppliers to measure traffic, understand user behavior, improve the Service, and support advertising.

These tools may collect information such as:

  • IP address
  • browser and device information
  • referral and page visit data
  • interaction and session behavior data
  • cookie or similar tracking identifiers
  • advertising-related measurement data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • create and manage your account
  • authenticate sign-in sessions
  • upload, process, and export transcriptions
  • check available minutes and process purchases
  • provide customer support
  • monitor product performance, security, and abuse
  • improve product experience and troubleshoot errors
  • send operational emails related to the Service
  • send limited marketing or recovery emails, such as abandoned checkout follow-up emails, where permitted

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to keep the Service working and to support analytics and advertising behavior in production.

These technologies may be used to:

  • maintain sessions
  • remember basic site state
  • measure traffic and engagement
  • support advertising and campaign performance
  • understand product usage patterns

Your browser may let you block or delete cookies, but some parts of the Service may stop working as expected if you do.

4. Third-Party Processing Categories

To operate the Service, we rely on third-party suppliers in categories such as:

  • AI technology suppliers for transcription processing
  • cloud service technology suppliers for storage and infrastructure
  • payment technology suppliers for checkout, billing, and customer account management
  • email technology suppliers for transactional or recovery emails
  • analytics and advertising technology suppliers for site measurement and ad delivery
  • authentication technology suppliers for sign-in and session handling

These suppliers may process personal data according to their own legal terms and privacy practices.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to operate the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and improve reliability.

Important retention notes:

  • browser-stored transcription records are designed to expire after about 72 hours
  • uploaded media and transcription-related data may remain available for operational reasons and third-party processing workflows
  • you should not rely on the Service as permanent storage for uploaded files or transcript output

Please export your results promptly if you need to keep them.

7. Your Choices

Depending on your situation, you may be able to:

  • stop using the Service at any time
  • manage or clear cookies in your browser
  • clear browser-stored local transcription data
  • contact us about account or privacy questions
